Cheerleader

I have 13 grandchildren. Each is one is unique with personalities that run the gamut from outgoing to serious and from quiet to like grandma, gabby.
My 11th grandchild could have been the All-American poster girl for shyness. She was so shy that when eating out and asked for her drink order by a server, she lowered her head and couldn't respond.
This weekend that shy little girl was selected to be an All-Star Cheerleader and be in Disney's Thanksgiving Parade. It wasn't easy to be someone who always stayed in the background, to get out there in front of people cheering her team. She worked hard, not just learning the cheers but perfecting her smile, and overcoming fears that made her tremble, and sometimes brought her to tears.
That little girl has come a long way, and the whole family is very proud of her. She is an inspiration for everyone to be more than they can be. She is certainly an inspiration to me.
